Polar landscapes

I have always been fascinated by adventure books, whether science fiction (who doesn't enjoy an Isaac Asimov story?) or true stories. And within this second category, the conquest of the poles has always been a story I couldn't get out of my head. What were the men like who, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, traversed the last unexplored regions of the Earth? What did they feel? What does it feel like when you are in extreme weather conditions?

As luck would have it, my work has allowed me to travel to these latitudes and I have been able to experience some of the sensations that these people lived through. And, truly? The polar regions are like a drug. Once you travel to them, you cannot help but return because they are absolutely fascinating.
